Robo Shankar| Tamil comedian Robo Shankar collapses and dies

Tamil film actor and comedian Robo Shankar collapsed and died. He was 46 years old. Shankar collapsed while shooting a television show on Thursday and died in the hospital at night. Shankar, a mimicry artist, got the name Robo Shankar after imitating a robot on stage. He rose to prominence through Star Vijay's comedy show Kalakkapovat Yaar. Robo Shankar made his silver screen debut in 2007 with the film Deepavali starring Jayam Ravi. He has played crucial roles in films like Maari, Viswasam, Singham 3, Cobra, and Puli. He has acted in many television shows and web series.
Shankar, who was incapacitated due to jaundice, recovered and became active in the acting field again when he died. Hospital sources said that the cause of death was kidney and liver failure. His wife is television star Priyanka. His daughter Indraja has acted in films and TV shows. Actor Kamal Haasan and others have expressed their condolences on the death of Robo Shankar.
