Asia Cup 2025: Asia Cup title for India

India won the 2025 Asia Cup. India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final. Batting first, India chased down the target of 147 runs set by Pakistan for the loss of 5 wickets in 19.4 overs. Tilak Verma's performance led India to victory. Tilak Verma scored 69* runs off 53 balls and remained unbeaten.

Shivam Dubey (33 off 22 balls) and Sanju Samson (24 off 21 balls) also gave India strength. Tilak and Sanju pulled India out of a shaky start. Later, Tilak and Dubey brought them closer to victory. Finally, Tilak Verma himself, along with Rinku Singh, led India to the title.

India lost three wickets in the powerplay itself. India lost the wickets of Abhishek Sharma (5), opener Shubman Gill (12) and captain Suryakumar Yadav (1), who had been in brilliant form throughout the tournament, in the powerplay.

Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill were dismissed by Faheem Ashraf, while Shaheen Afridi took Suryakumar's wicket. India were 36/3 at the end of the powerplay. Later, Tilak Verma and Sanju, who came to the crease, saved India.

The two added a crucial 57 runs on the scoreboard for the fourth wicket. After Sanju fell, Tilak took the wicket of Dubey. When Dubey was dismissed on the last ball of the 19th over, India was 10 runs away from victory. This is India's ninth Asia Cup title.
