Delhi University student's body found in Yamuna river

The body of a 19-year-old Delhi University student and Tripura native has been found. The body was found in the Yamuna river. A note was earlier found that was believed to have been written by Sneha, a student of Atmaram Sanatan Dharma College who went missing on July 7. She is a native of Sabroom in southern Tripura district. After the incident came to light, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha had directed the police to conduct a thorough investigation.
Sneha last contacted her family on July 7. She told her mother that she was going to Sarai Rohilla railway station with her friend Pitunia. Sneha last called at 5:56 am. The family also says that Sneha's phone was switched off at 8:45 am. Pitunia later confirmed that she had not seen Sneha that day.
The cab driver had confirmed that Sneha, who went missing, was dropped near Signature Bridge in Delhi. The 19-year-old was dropped off by the cab driver in an area where there are frequent security concerns and there is insufficient CCTV coverage. Therefore, it was a big challenge for the police to trace where Sneha had gone from Signature Bridge. On July 9, the Delhi Police Crime Branch, with the help of the NDRF, conducted an extensive search in the Signature Bridge area and a seven-km radius, but no information was received.
