Footage of pregnant women being treated for sale; Police register case against Payal Maternity Hospital in Gujarat

A case has been registered against a hospital in Gujarat for selling footage of pregnant women being treated at a hospital on social media. The footage was from Payal Maternity Hospital in Rajkot, which was being circulated for sale on social media groups.

There was a huge outcry after the incident gained national attention. Following this, the Gujarat Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. Seven videos have been uploaded on a YouTube channel named Megha MBBS. The videos can be viewed through a Telegram link by paying between Rs 999 and Rs 1,500.

Police say CCTV footage has emerged of a female doctor examining patients in a closed room and a nurse administering injections to them. The investigation has found that the Telegram group was formed in September last year and the YouTube channel was launched in January this year.

The Telegram group has more than 90 members. The nurse and the pregnant woman can be heard talking in the video. Authorities have stated that the CCTV system of the hospital may have been hacked. Authorities have stated that there is no fault on the part of the hospital and that they will fully cooperate with the investigation.
