Army foils infiltration bid in Jammu and Kashmir; Two terrorists killed in encounter, firing and explosions at two places

Infiltration bid in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorist attempt foiled by the army. Two terrorists were killed in an encounter. The security forces foiled an attempt by the terrorists to infiltrate into Kashmir through the Line of Control in Machil and Dudniyal sectors of Kupwara. The infiltration bid took place late on Monday night. Firing and explosions took place at both the places.

The action was taken after the army came to the notice of suspicious movement near the Line of Control in Machil. The firing started after the army stopped the infiltrators, army sources said. ANI reported that the military operation is ongoing in the area.

Meanwhile, several explosions were reported in Dudniyal sector. The Army suspects that it is a coordinated infiltration attempt as all three incidents took place on the same day. The Line of Control remains on high alert in the wake of recent ceasefire violations and reports of increased presence of terrorists across the border.
