Encounter in Chhattisgarh; Two Maoist leaders carrying a reward of Rs 80 lakh killed

Two Maoists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. The Maoist leaders, Ramachandra Reddy (63) and Satyachandra Reddy (67), were killed. A reward of Rs 40 lakh each was announced for both of them.
The security forces, acting on a tip-off, received a tip-off about the incident. The forces retaliated in a strong manner. The security forces said that they recovered a large number of weapons, including an AK-47, and explosives from the scene.
Officials said that based on information about the presence of more Maoists, a search operation is underway and additional forces have been deployed in the area. Security has been beefed up along the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border in the wake of the attack.
