Housewife wanted to withdraw the entire FD, suspicious bank employees checked the account details; cyber fraud busted

Bank officials busted a cyber fraud. An attempt to defraud a housewife through virtual arrest was foiled with the intervention of bank officials. The 68-year-old, a native of Manjadi, Thiruvalla, was placed under virtual arrest via video call for two days by a fraud gang. Later, the housewife went to the bank to hand over the money to the fraud gang. Steps were taken to withdraw the FD and transfer it to the account given by the fraud gang. Meanwhile, the suspicious bank employees checked the account details and realized that it belonged to the fraud gang. The fraud gang tried to defraud more than Rs. 21 lakh.
