Indian team refuses to accept trophy from PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi

The Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The Indian team did not participate in the presentation ceremony following the Women's Asia Cup final held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
A similar incident occurred during the 2025 Asia Cup final; at that time, Naqvi returned to the ACC office in Dubai with the trophy. Reports suggest the trophy remains there.
In the Asia Cup final, the Indian team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs to clinch the title. Following the match, the players celebrated and gave interviews to the broadcaster as usual. Although the presentation ceremony typically takes place within 15 to 20 minutes, it was delayed by over an hour on this occasion.

Both parties also participated in the team's private dressing room medal distribution ceremony. It is reported that Naqvi had arrived at the stadium with the intention of presenting the trophy to India. He did participate in the presentation ceremony and handed over the prize money to the Sri Lankan captain (the runners-up).
However, the Indian players, coach, or team officials were not seen near the podium. According to reports in the Pakistani media, Naqvi will once again take the Women's Asia Cup trophy back to the ACC office in Dubai, as the Indian team is unwilling to accept it from him.

A similar controversy arose during the India-Pakistan Asia Cup final held at the same venue last year. After winning the title, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi; instead, they insisted that the trophy be presented by another official from the ICC or the ACC.
