Jammu and Kashmir cloudburst; Death toll in flash floods rises to 50, over 200 missing

The death toll in the cloudburst and flash floods in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir has risen to 50. More than 100 people were injured. They have been admitted to hospitals. The flash floods occurred in Chositi in Kashmir's Kishtwar district following a cloudburst. The incident took place on Thursday afternoon. The cloudburst and flash flood occurred at the beginning of the path to the Machhail Mata pilgrimage center in Kishtwar. Most of the dead are reported to be pilgrims. Officials had announced that a travel ban has been imposed on the temple following the floods.
