KSRTC bus crashed into a road underpass in Cherthala; 28 people injured: Kerala

In Cherthala, a KSRTC Swift bus crashed into a construction site on the National Highway, injuring 28 people. Nine of them are in critical condition. The bus, which was going from Coimbatore to Thiruvananthapuram, met with the accident at around 4 am.

The bus crashed into the wires installed for the construction of a road underpass, which is part of the National Highway, near Cherthala Police Station. Passengers say that excessive speed caused the loss of control. The driver and conductor are among the injured. The fire brigade from Cherthala reached the bus and cut the driver and conductor out. They were admitted to Cherthala Taluk Hospital and Alappuzha Medical College Hospital.
