'My party will contest all 403 constituencies in the 2027 UP elections': Former IAS officer Divya Mittal seeks support

Former IAS officer Divya Mittal, who resigned from the civil service to enter politics, has announced that her party will contest the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. She stated that the 'Jananeeti Bharat Party' will field candidates in all 403 constituencies. Divya Mittal made this announcement during a public outreach event held in Chunar, Mirzapur, on Saturday. She requested support for the party's candidate in Chunar.

Upon arriving at the venue, Divya Mittal paid floral tributes at the statue of Nishad Raj in Guhraj Nishad Park before interacting with the public. "Our party will contest the Legislative Assembly elections. We will field a candidate in Chunar as well. I urge the people of Chunar to support our candidate. Wherever we can find strong candidates—that is, across all 403 seats in the state—we will field candidates," said Divya Mittal.

Divya Mittal clarified that she entered the public sphere not merely to engage in politics, but to bring about a people-centric administration and establish governance by the people. She added that what is needed is not just politics, but 'Jananeeti' (justice for the people).

Mittal's announcement comes with an eye toward the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. A video of Divya Mittal outlining her election plans while interacting with the public has gone viral on social media. She had previously clarified that her political activities would not be in association with any existing political party.

Divya Mittal, a 2013-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, resigned recently after 13 years of service. She had served as the District Collector in districts such as Mirzapur and Deoria in Uttar Pradesh. Her implementation of a drinking water project for remote, interior villages—during her tenure as the District Magistrate of Mirzapur—garnered significant attention.
