NIA raids houses of SDPI activists in Malappuram; four in custody

NIA raids houses of SDPI activists in Malappuram Manjeri. Raids were conducted in five houses. NIA officials from Kochi began the inspection at 3 am. Four people have been taken into custody. The raid was completed within an hour. One person each from four houses was taken into custody. One more is yet to be arrested. The search is on for him.

NIA officials have told their families that they are being taken in connection with a case and that they will be released after questioning them in detail if they are convinced that they have done nothing wrong. One of those in custody is the branch president of SDPI.
