Subeen Garg's funeral procession in Limca Book; World's fourth largest funeral procession

Lakhs of people flocked to Guwahati yesterday to pay their last respects to Assamese singer Subeen Garg, who died while scuba diving in Singapore. Huge musical performances were held in various parts of the state. The Limca Book of Records recorded it as the world's fourth largest funeral procession due to public participation. Along with those of Michael Jackson, Pope Francis and Queen Elizabeth. If the figures are correct, this will also be the largest funeral procession India has ever seen.
A case was registered after fans alleged that there was a mystery in the accident. The organizers and Subeen Garg's manager did not reach the state fearing public anger. Fans blocked the national highway demanding that the last rites be arranged in his hometown Jorhat.
