Department of Botany and Centre for Research of St. Teresa’s College conducted Dr. Sr. Avita Memorial Intercollegiate Quiz Competition on Plant Science

Department of Botany and Centre for Research of St. Teresa’s College conducted Dr. Sr. Avita Memorial Intercollegiate Quiz Competition on Plant Science as a respectful tribute to the services of Dr. Sr. Avita to the institution and contribution to the subject on 01^st February 2023 at science block of the college. Dr. Sr. Avita was the first research guide of the research centre of the Botany department. She served the institution as faculty from 1965 to 1994.

In the preliminary round of the quiz competition 11 teams from 11 colleges across Kerala participated.  Five teams got selected for the finals. S.N. College, Kollam emerged as the winners and they got the first prize and ever rolling trophy. St. Stephen’s College, Pathanapuram and S.H. College, Thevara won the second and third prizes respectively.

The logo of the quiz competition was unveiled during the ceremony by Rev. Sr. Emeline, the director of the college. Provincial superior and manager Rev. Dr. Sr. Vinitha, Principal Dr. Alphonsa Vijaya Joseph and the Director Rev. Sr. Emeline spoke during the programme. The cash prize, trophy and certificates were distributed by Provincial superior and manager Rev. Dr. Sr. Vinitha and Principal Dr. Alphonsa Vijaya Joseph.
