Broker attacks groom after he doesn't pay wedding fee; cuts off two fingers

A newlywed was hacked to death by a broker who entered his shop and stabbed him with a knife on the pretext of not paying him for arranging the marriage. The incident took place in Vellarikund. The victim was P.V. Abraham, who was running a business near the Paramba ration shop.

Abraham was attacked by Baby, a marriage broker from Paramba. The broker was arrested by the Chittarikkal police in the incident. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against him.

Abraham recently married a woman from Manakadavu. Baby acted as the middleman. However, Baby alleges that Abraham did not pay the broker fee even after the marriage. Enraged by this, the accused hacked Abraham, who was standing in the shop, with a knife on the night of April 4.

The thumb of his right hand and the little finger of his left hand are severed. Abraham, who was admitted to a private hospital in Kannur, is continuing to be in the intensive care unit at Nilavai. Baby was produced in court and remanded.
