'Buds School named after RSS leader Hedgewar'; DYFI and Youth Congress workers protest

Protests over naming Buds School under the BJP-ruled Palakkad Municipality after Hedgewar. DYFI and Youth Congress activists came out with the protest. The protest took place during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Buds School. Youth Congress activists planted a banana tree at the foundation stone laying site. They also broke the stone plaque.

Youth Congress activists said that the project for the differently-abled is welcome, but the BJP has played politics here. Meanwhile, DYFI also said that the protest is not ending and will continue. However, the BJP says that naming Hedgewar is not a political issue. Members of the governing body said that Hedgewar is being named after a person who has inspired many politicians.

Youth Congress said that naming the RSS founder is very bad. It is wrong according to the law. The name was given without discussing it in the council. Even the Palakkad Municipality Secretary is not aware of this. Youth Congress workers say that the name was decided on Thursday evening. Meanwhile, DYFI will fight the BJP's attempt to RSS-ify the BJP-ruled municipality at any cost. It should be checked whether Congress is behind this. DYFI has said that the BJP should clarify why it is building a memorial in the name of a man who lived as an RSS and died as an RSS, who did not contribute anything to the country, and who divided the country on the basis of religion and caste, and will fight this at any cost.
