Chief Minister P[Pinarayi Vijayan has made the Land Registry Amendment Rules a relief for the hilly people. The Chief Minister made this clear in a press conference. The Chief Minister said that the Land Registry Amendment Rules have become rules and need to be sent to the subject committee. The Chief Minister added that this is the implementation of the main promise in the manifesto.

The Chief Minister informed the press conference that the cabinet meeting discussed the issue of the hilly region in detail. The Revenue Minister was also present at the press conference with the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister informed that the Land Registry Amendment Rules are a relief for the hilly people. Land issues had troubled the hilly people. The Chief Minister added that the Cabinet approved the amendment to the Land Registry Rules as a solution to this.

The construction and transfer of many of those who got land have been very wise. The Chief Minister said that the Land Registry Amendment Rules were passed by the government after a long wait of six and a half decades. Rules have been made to regulate the conversion of land. This is an amendment proposal from the people. The Cabinet considered the amendment rules after extensive discussions. The Chief Minister said that the issue of misappropriation of land will be completely resolved and all houses will be regularized.

Land sold without following the specified time limit will be regularized by collecting a fixed fee. Only misappropriation will be regularized. The lease system will be applicable on the remaining land. Illegal activities will not be allowed after regularization. There will be no compounding fee for public-government-commercial buildings on leased land. The Chief Minister also said that the fee will be calculated based on their size for buildings for commercial purposes.
