Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan shot dead

Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Shamli district. Ankit Baliyan was attacked outside a gym on Wednesday evening.

The shooting took place within the limits of Kotwali police station. Ankit Baliyan was shot by a group of assailants on two bikes as he was leaving the gym. Baliyan, who was shot multiple times, died on the spot. SP MP Singh told the media that the body has been sent for postmortem and the investigation is progressing. Police teams have been formed for the investigation. The examination is being conducted focusing on CCTV footage from the area.

There were rumors that Ankit Baliyan might contest the upcoming panchayat elections. It is not clear whether this led to the murder. Ankit Baliyan has over 3.66 lakh subscribers on YouTube. Some of the videos include content that uses weapons including guns and vehicles.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav strongly condemned the murder of Ankit Baliyan. He said that the law and order situation in the state has reached zero and demanded an investigation into whether there is any political rivalry behind the incident. Akhilesh Yadav criticized the incident as an attack on the Jat community.
