Kashmir terror attack; Prime Minister Narendra Modi cuts short Saudi Arabia visit, returns

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India after cutting short his foreign trip in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. He arrived in Delhi this morning. Yesterday, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had informed through X that the Prime Minister is on his way to India after completing his visit to Saudi Arabia.

A meeting will be chaired by the Prime Minister today to assess the situation surrounding the terror attack. Further steps will be taken in this meeting. Along with this, a search for the terrorists has also begun.

The Prime Minister had yesterday announced that the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack will not be spared. He also condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Terrorists opened fire on tourists in Baisaran, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir at around 2.30 pm yesterday. The attack was on those who had gone to the trekking area. 28 people were killed in the terrorist attack. A Malayali was among the dead. The deceased has been identified as N Ramachandran, a native of Edappally. The victims were tourists from Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The Resistance Front, a pro-Lashkar-e-Taiba organization, claimed responsibility for the attack yesterday.
