NDA candidate B.B. Gopakumar won in Chathannur constituency. R. Rajendran was the LDF candidate. Suraj Ravi was the UDF candidate. Chathannur is one of the seats where BJP had pinned its hopes of winning in Kollam district. However, the party was disturbed by the fact that the seat was not mentioned in the exit poll. The party leadership claimed that it was sure of victory this time in Chathannur, which had come second twice. CPI's G.S. Jayalal won the constituency in 2016 and 2021.
