No more alliance with BJP: AIADMK

AIADMK will not join hands with BJP ahead of Tamil Nadu assembly elections. AIADMK has made its stand clear by rejecting the alliance moves being made by BJP. AIADMK leader D Jayakumar said that the party's stance is that there has never been an alliance with BJP and there is no change in it.

AIADMK is not ready for any direct or indirect alliance with BJP. There is no doubt in this regard and Jayakumar clarified that the party general secretary's response regarding the alliance in the assembly elections the other day was misinterpreted.

When asked whether it would be ready for an alliance with BJP in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Edappadi Palaniswami's response was that the alliance would be decided according to the political situation during the elections. He had also said that there was no obstacle to forming an alliance with parties that accept AIADMK's policies. This has led to the spread of news that there is a possibility of a BJP-AIADMK alliance.

Contesting the last Lok Sabha elections without an alliance was a huge setback for both the BJP and the AIADMK. Therefore, the BJP has started making moves to form an alliance with the AIADMK in the assembly elections.
