Government moves ahead with brewery; Oppositions in the front ignored; Decision taken in cabinet meeting

A decision was taken in the cabinet meeting to move forward with the construction of the Palakkad brewery. It was decided to move forward with the project despite the oppositions in the front itself. The CPI and RJD had already expressed strong opposition to the project.

The Chief Minister took the stand that the project should be moved forward despite the strong opposition raised by the CPI and RJD. It was also decided in the meeting to move forward without any objections. CPM State Secretary MV Govindan also clarified in the meeting that there is no need to worry about the project.

The Chief Minister said that there is no need to worry about the issues raised, including drinking water, following the announcement of the project and that the government will resolve any other concerns if there are any. Meanwhile, CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam took a stand at the meeting that the problem is the place called Elappully, where the construction of the Palakkad brewery is about to begin.

Binoy Viswam also asked if another place could be considered instead of Elappully. However, MV Govindan took a stand at the meeting that there is no basis for concern about drinking water.
