120 kg of gold seized, five years of tax evasion found; Kerala State's biggest GST raid continues in Thrissur

The inspection of the GST Intelligence Unit, which started yesterday, continues in Thrissur's gold jewelery manufacturing centers and shops. State GST Intelligence Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Kumar informed that 120 kg of unaccounted gold has been seized so far in the ongoing raid at 74 centers in the district and the investigation will continue. Five years of tax evasion have been found.

The biggest GST raid in the state is taking place in Thrissur. 700 personnel from different parts of the state are participating in the raid, dubbed Operation Torre del Oro. The raid which started yesterday morning is still going on. The raid is being conducted under the leadership of State GST Intelligence Special Commissioner Abraham.

Officials informed that the inspection is being conducted at wholesale trade establishments. This is the biggest raid conducted by the GST department in the state. The GST department informed that unaccounted gold ornaments and documents have been recovered.
