IND vs ENG: Gill and team create history at Edgbaston

India won the second match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy by 336 runs. Chasing a target of 608 runs set by India, England were all out for 271 runs in the second innings. Akash Deep's performance, who took six wickets, spoiled England's plans to draw in the second innings. Akash had taken four wickets in the first innings.

Captain Shubman Gill's batting performance and the bowlers' performance were crucial for India in the match. Kasaria Gill scored 269 runs in the first innings and 161 runs in the second innings.
Gill's double and fifties from Ravindra Jadeja (86) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (87) helped India post a huge score of 587 runs in the first innings. In reply, India bowled out England for 407 runs and took a lead of 180 runs. England were saved from a huge collapse by centuries from Jamie Smith (184*) and Harry Brook (158).
India declared their second innings at 427 for six. Gill scored 161 off 162 balls. Ravindra Jadeja (69*), Rishabh Pant (65) and KL Rahul (55) also contributed well with the bat.
This was India's first win at Edgbaston in Test history. With the win, the five-match series was levelled at 1-1. The third Test begins at Lord's on 10th of this month.
