Rekha Gupta will be the Chief Minister of Delhi

BJP has put the national capital in the hands of a strong woman. Ending the uncertainties that followed the assembly elections, Rekha Gupta has been declared the Chief Minister of Delhi. Parvesh Verma will be the Deputy Chief Minister. Vijendra Gupta will be the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly.

Rekha Gupta, who won from the Shalimar Bagh constituency with a majority of 29595 votes, is the National Vice President of the Mahila Morcha. The BJP has seized power in Delhi after 27 years. This time too, the BJP has decided on a woman Chief Minister.

Sushma Swaraj was the Chief Minister in the first assembly elections in Delhi in 1998. The BJP won 48 seats in the 70-member assembly. Parvesh Verma had earlier won a historic victory of 5,78,486 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier, news had emerged that the BJP would nominate a woman for the post of Chief Minister. The BJP's announcement comes after very crucial discussions. The BJP will announce the Chief Minister on the eleventh day after the counting of votes.

The oath-taking ceremony will begin at 10 am on Feb 20 at Ramlila Maidan. The Governor will administer the oath to the Delhi Chief Minister at 12 noon. The ceremony was held under the slogan of 'Developed Delhi'. The ceremony has been named 'Developed Delhi Shapath Samaroh'.
