'I will not resign as KIIFB CEO, the Chief Minister can decide whether I should continue in the post'; KM Abraham

Following the High Court order announcing a CBI inquiry into the complaint of amassing assets beyond his income, former Chief Secretary and KIIFB CEO K M Abraham clarified his stance. K M Abraham said that he will not resign from the post of KIIFB CEO and that the Chief Minister can decide whether to continue in the post. K. M. Abraham clarified these matters in a Vishu message sent to KIIFB employees.

K. M. Abraham says that the current proceedings have resulted from the past enmity between the petitioner in the case, Jomon Puthan Purakkal. K M Abraham argues that he, as the then Finance Secretary, had imposed a fine on the petitioner for misusing the PWD rest house in 2016 and this case is a retaliation for that.

K.M. Abraham explains that a former Vigilance Director is giving an interview to the media against him and that he, as the Secretary of the Finance Department, found that a corruption of Rs 20 crore took place when he was the head of a public sector undertaking. Apart from this, he has also found evidence against a person who was the head of another public sector undertaking. K.M. Abraham says that a group of such people are now working against him.

If he resigns as per the court verdict, it will be interpreted that what the petitioner and the allegationers are saying is right. Therefore, he will not resign. The Chief Minister should take a decision in this regard. If the Chief Minister decides, he will consider resigning from the post of KIIFB Chairman and will face any investigation, K.M. Abraham added.
