Uganda: Ebola spreads again; Ten confirmed cases in treatment

Ebola is spreading again in Uganda. A four-year-old child died of Ebola on Tuesday. In addition, ten people who tested positive for the disease are currently being treated. The child who died of the disease was being treated at Mulago Hospital, the country's referral center for Ebola patients.

The Ministry of Health announced that all eight Ebola patients under observation have been discharged. The Ministry of Health also stated that 265 people on the contact list are still under strict observation in Kampala. Earlier, on January 30, a male nurse died of the disease.

The death of the nurse came before the official confirmation of the new Ebola outbreak. This is the sixth time that Ebola has been confirmed in Uganda. Ebola was previously confirmed in Sudan. The initial conclusion is that the disease reached Uganda from there. There is no approved vaccine for Ebola yet.
