Irregularity in the voter list in Thrissur; Congress says 117 votes were added from 2 flats

Congress leaders have come forward with more evidence of irregularities in the electoral roll in Thrissur. Former Congress councilor Vatsala Baburaj said that 79 people were randomly included in the list in the flat in Sankarankulangara, Poonkunnam alone. 38 votes were also added in the adjacent Water Lily flat.

The counting of these votes was stopped after Congress booth agents complained to the district collector. Vatsala Baburaj responded that only one of them voted. 79 votes were randomly added in the Inland apartment in Poonkunnam alone. None of these people are residents of the apartment. All of them are from Alathur constituency. Vatsala Baburaj said that 39 new people were also added to the electoral roll in the Water Lily flat.

It is reported that such vote addition took place in about ten flats in Thrissur. Congress and LDF candidate VS Sunil Kumar had alleged that non-permanent residents were included in the voter list in Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency. DCC President Joseph Taget had alleged that 11 people, including the brother of the winning candidate Suresh Gopi, were included in booth number 116 from 1016 to 1026. Their names are not in the list that has been released now.
