No more Indian films going to Turkey; Shooting and participation stopped

Leading film workers’ unions in India have also come out in strong response to Turkey’s continued diplomatic support for Pakistan. They have announced a complete boycott of all film and cultural collaborations with Turkey. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), which represents various professionals in the entertainment sector, has imposed a complete ban on the shooting of films, television shows and digital content in Turkey. The association has also banned any kind of collaboration with Turkish artists or production houses.
“We always stand with the country. Especially at a time of terrorism and instability, Turkey’s open alliance with Pakistan is unacceptable. The Indian film industry will not support or be a part of any country that stands against India’s sovereignty,” the AICWA said in a statement.
The decision also includes a decision to ban all filming activities by Indian production companies in Turkey and to cancel or renegotiate existing contracts involving Turkish talent or technicians. It has also been clarified that strict disciplinary action will be taken against those who violate the directive.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), one of the country's largest film workers' unions, has also come out in support of a boycott of Turkey. The organisation has asked Indian producers to avoid Turkey from filming locations, citing Turkey's growing diplomatic proximity with Islamabad as a security threat.
These developments come at a time when anti-Turkey sentiment is gaining momentum in India. Traders have stopped importing marble and apples from Turkey as part of the protest. Indian travel agencies are reportedly facing a 7-8% decline in business as tourist trips to Turkey and Azerbaijan have been widely cancelled.
