Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has expressed his displeasure over not inviting him for the Nilambur by-election campaign. Shashi Tharoor, who is the MP from Thiruvananthapuram, expressed his displeasure over not inviting him for the election campaign at a time when differences of opinion between Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor and the Congress leadership in Kerala are being actively discussed. Tharoor said that if he had been asked to come to Nilambur, he would have definitely gone.
Shashi Tharoor said that it is a matter of common knowledge that he has often had differences of opinion with the Congress leadership in Kerala, but he is proceeding amicably with the party and all party workers. Shashi Tharoor dismissed the rumours that he is joining the BJP. Shashi Tharoor MP clarified that he is a member of the Congress party and is not going anywhere. Tharoor clarified that if he takes on a task, he should act with confidence and responsibility and that his line has not changed. Shashi Tharoor explained that he spoke to the Prime Minister only on official matters and that domestic political issues were not discussed.
Tharoor said that Congress workers in Nilambur had worked sincerely and expressed dissatisfaction over not being invited to Nilambur. The Tharuvananthapuram MP said that the UDF has a good candidate in Nilambur and that he wants the Congress to win in the constituency. Tharoor said that he had not been specifically invited for the by-election campaign and that he did not need an invitation to go for the campaign. But the organizers will inform when organizing the event. Tharoor explained that if he had been asked in Nilambur, he would have definitely gone. Tharoor said he felt his needs were not there.
